Experimental workshop.

Monday 23rd of May 2016, 7pm till 9pm

How does language govern the decisions we make?

Using script improvisation similar to Peter Watkins’ docudram, which often involves interviewing actors in the role, to stimulate debate and explore art methodologies around the question:

Imagine that it is a hundred years in the future, and the Welsh language has disappeared. If you have the opportunity to leave a message for the future, what would you say?

You will be asked to explore a variety of methods to articulate your message. This can include performance, drawing and clay sculpture. Will also investigate how drawing and clay objects can act as props for story telling and explore improvisation as a tool for creativity.

Scenario brief for method acting:

You are the last person alive who speaks Welsh.

Near the end what do you say?

All the workshop activates will be sound and video recorded and placed online as part of the research project iwtopia.

*No previous performance or art training is necessary.
